The People

I went out dancing with some friends a few weeks ago. It takes a little motivation to forego a good night’s sleep for an experience. Especially when my kids will make sure I am up early.

When we got there at 10:30pm, the music was great - the vibe was even better. Standing in a packed warehouse with the most varied group of San Franciscans and beyond, jumping in time to the sound of a DJ rapping live over his beats, gave me the distinct sense of the power of the people. The beat, the march, the synchronicity. This is the energy that changes worlds.

Getting people to agree on anything, at the same time, in the same place, is rare. That is why it is powerful. The energy behind that frequency is palpable. It can move things.

We are in a collective moment of overwhelm. We don’t know how to effectively respond to all the little and big fires, everywhere. This situation was orchestrated to paralyze us.

Who will emerge to synchronize the people?
