Healing Happens

Healing Happens

There is an image that comes to mind when something is screwing me up. Three gauges on a dashboard with all of their needles going wildly in asynchronous circles. Erratic. When a topic, a situation, a relationship brings this image to mind, I know I need to change something.

It means something isn’t good for me. It doesn’t happen often, but it is intense when it does. This image means that there is no sense to be made, and reason will not solve it. The person, the situation, or the topic is not stable enough for me to resolve. This is the important part. There is no stable ground here on which to work. I am in crazy town.

Get away. Install a boundary. Something major is off. This is probably doing something unhealthy to my cells. This may damage my efforts in life.

There is no reason to solve the riddle. It is taking me in circles –- rapid, messy, jerky circles.

Take space. Blame won’t help. The situation isn’t working. The relationship is not currently enriching. That is all anyone needs to know.

Eat a good meal. Prune a plant. Go to sleep. Call your spirit back into your body. Give it a safe place to land. Love yourself.

Be surprised how healing happens. It just does. It is natural. We are made to heal. Be so grateful that you felt what was happening to you and you stopped it.
